The creature, a hulking mass of sinew and circuitry, pulses with a sickly, eerie glow, its mechanical parts whirring and clanking in discordant harmony with its labored breaths.

The janitor’s heart pounds in his chest as he catches sight of the creature’s malformed gaze, eyes that reflect a twisted blend of agony and bewilderment.
